When I finished my Fashion Styling study in FIP, under Sir John Herrera, last year, July 2010, I thought, why not do collaborations to built portfolio. I never thought of getting mainstream or serious about it. I messaged fashion photographer Seven Barretto, and opened that I just finished the program, and wanted to work with him for an ex-deal and just for our ports. Seven didn't hesitate and offered that he'll complete the team selection, and that's last year October 27, 2010.

I messaged Kermit Tesoro, and Tina Danaic, and Tina graced my request which I'm very honored, and shocked as well, risking her newest, and outstanding collection during the PFW SS2011. The shoot was so fun, that during the shoot, I'm both overwhelmed and nervous since working with Seven is already a privilege plus Mega's stylist Eldz was there as well. My mom, and niece Pabby was there as well to support me, guess all my family is in it, huh.

The final layouts draws attention that it was thought to be released in magazine, but unfortunately because of 1 designer feat it becomes a lookbook focusing on one designer alone, which we never thought of submitting since it's just for our ports and fun shoot. Later on, as I got a go signal from our hair stylist, Mark Baquiran, then I submit it to for Manila Bulletin. One week passed, and it was released. See the final layouts released last July 29, 2011.

The inspiration actually changes but the concept is that we want to make a strong interpretation since Tina's runway looks where already phenomenon and we don't want to compete or overdo it. Thus, we have our on say to it.

Trivia: It took 3 persons to have the this blown shot. One to hold the fanning, and 2 heads to work on the garment throw.

Little Bastard

The key in every shoot's successful execution I believe in planning. This plays a crucial part from casting, pulls, and working every team's sched from make up, hair, photographer, and most specifically, getting the model. I've been planning to shoot in Alabang Town Center because 1. great scenery 2. seldom used locations 3. near to my place. I tried pulling in the mall as well, and come so easy, and the most heavenly news I got is the approval of the use of the entire location!

I called Christine Lorico, our hobbyist photographer, who shoots great images, and its no doubt, outside shoot is perfect for the concept. We sched to shoot 3 editorials for a day, and here is one of the 3.

Released last July 22, Friday, in Manila Bulletin Lifestyle-Fashion Section, titled "In Perpetua":

My inspiration on this is James Dean, a legendary American film actor, who died in a car crash. The concept has been overused, so and well adapted thus we are so careful not to tag along the wagon. A little men's simple beauty at this time, very minimal styling, and just your typical guy.

Rodrigo, our model, is a perfect pitch! Just take a closer look just even 1 minute...Thanks to Tin, being part of the casting, with so many setcards to choose.... thank God it's Rodrigo. Thanks Mau of Mercator!
Huge part of the styling here, I involved Lui Cuevas, my stylista batch, fashion styling classmate. In our batch, we used to call our batch - stylista, obvious reason that some schools had their nicks ex. La Sallian, Atenista, etc.

Waterproof

Waterproof is the 2nd installment shoot we had in Punta Fuego, Batangas. We had our overnight stay for 1 editorial, Exuberance, but since we kinda want to do more eds. We requested to Priscila, our model, if she can accommodate 1 more eds since we want to do a beauty shot in the pool area. We have alot of reference doing pool shoot from ANTM, Vogue In Beauty, Online and amongst others, but this time we want to have a simple make up, in a dark background, with some accessories to put on.

Sharing to you our last eds, released last June 24, 2011, in Manila Bulletin Lifestyle-Fashion Section. Happy viewing: This is the 1st layout, and shots that already made it!

The entire is really a challenge to our model, Priscila, but she is so patient and very determine given she needs to hold some breath, stay fierce, ignore the cold, and can not have the red eye stress... you name it, she nailed it!

I have an upcoming release for a magazine, a simple one, but I'm so excited since the team and the final results are so fab that I can't wait to share with you.

300's Oracle Inspired

After Hours

Last April, I messaged Seven Barretto, fashion photographer, if he's interested to shoot for an editorial in Manila Bulletin Fashion Section. He kindedly graced my request, and it was totally a pleasure and such an honor working with this talented genius.

This is my 2nd shoot with him, and the 1st one, will be out soon! I tried to make it very creative and pull all my best stunt since this guy really knows creative direction, and artistic shots. Inviting him to do the eds is my way of thanking him for an X-deal shoot we had on the 1st one, as a neophyte in the styling acts. He is so down to earth very, humble, and gosh, I can praise all day, but I know you get the point. He's one of the nicest person I've met, in regards to his experience and status right now.

Here is moodboard, one of the original concept I submitted to our super supportive, Fashion editor, Ms. Joyce. Get on the floor is inspired by the clubwear, very chic that ranges from hiphop, sexy chic, gossip girl-alike to your just normal girl. Released later on to go with an article by Jaz, one of the fashion writer in MB, perfect timing.

Feast on!

The shoot actually is scheduled way back, but since Pauline was in a work abroad, and be back after holy week, thus we sched it right then. Perfect timing, and there you go... nice cue! Super thanks as well to Pau for so always game, and always so supportive of the shoot!

Trivia: Pau just love this, and bought one that had it's debut in Bora. FnH Maillot swimwear, a hot item!

Homegirl inspired. Thanks to Jill Medina, Pax's recommended her since I badly needed a styling assistant. One of her firsts as well, as a stylist! Kudos Jill!

Exuberance

One of the challenging shoot, to date, given 1 day preparation (requests, and pulls), the travelling time, overnight spent to Batangas, with 3 different locations, but really, can you complain the astonishing view, sumptuous food, and delightful staff, plus with THE exceptional teamwork in Punta Fuego, hell NO!

During PFW, I was already going gaga of some of the collections that I just love to grab and run for the shoot. So watch out for that, still drafting a huge production shoot, and hope I won't get cranky and crazy over this... hint: Tableau shoot in couture. Caloi, Editor from Manila Bulletin, called me to style for this with Madam Rxandy Capinpin, and of course, Hanna Pechon for Make up, and Jay Wee for the hair. Thanks Caloi for the opportunities!

Stylist Job 101: Shooting under rough roads! Use panty liners at the bottom of the shoes for a damage-free return. Masking, electric, and cardboards give-in in these rocky roads.

Change hair peg. Little braids on the tip. Cool that I have with me my bestbud Rombs Luzon to carry all the suit bags, and enormous boxes of shoes. Thanks Rombs!
