Uniqlo Fall 2012 Fashion Show

Last March, Manila Bulletin's Carlos Dela Pasion, called if I can style for Uniqlo for their first press release.  I say yes, and I tag along Kaye Awatin on this.  Remember this?

After a huge opening here in Philippines last June, APMR's Account Director Ms. Cheryl Lim called me to style for Uniqlo's Fall Fashion Show, which was held last August 22, 2012.  The client liked our work from MB's Press Release thus book me again for the project, and definitely I need to tag Kaye Awatin for this.

I booked a team Argie, Bianca, Kai, including me and Kaye, of course.  I called bessy Aisa as well, since I believe she's from a trip, and luckily she'll be arriving that day, no sleep, from Baguio! Now, Team, check!

Prior to the actual runway show, I meet the entire AMPR team and the clients as well.  We have some fashion show look guides and need to present it on the actual models.  Fitting, instructions, presentation were done and finally, next day THE FASHION SHOW!  Each Presentation is categorized on the design and types of material used in the clothing, well after all Japanese are known for quality, technology and functions.
Check out, the racks of clothes for us to choose from:

ULD - Ultra Light Down, very light weight actually, you can really feel the soft texture - imagine goose feathers!
Kaye and I need to run after presentation to pull shoes from JANILYN Glorietta 5.  Thanks alot Ms. Cecil for such a great help!
Kaye and I need to be in the area around 8am, though the fashion show will start at 3pm.  We need to style 6-7 mannequins displayed across the runway.

I styled 2 male mannequins, and distributed the rest to the team for them to style as well.  I styled the mannequin in maroon pullover with cap, and the checkered LS below.
Knitwear - styled by Argie and Aisa

Designers Invitation Project - Uniqlo collaborated with well-known Japanese designers to create pieces that is easy, chic and everyday wear.

Menswear:  Thank you Flying Dutchman for providing fab shoes on all the male mannequin-display and on the runway show.

The show is hosted by MYX's VJ Bianca Roque and I styled her chic outfit :) Check it out, and let me know what you think?

I can definitely wear this!
The AIRism in gray top - so light, so easy that you wont feel you're wearing one
Love stripes, but afraid it will create wider look? then use it as inner wear with a button down pullover or a deep V or scoop outerwear.

Menswear: Fall Trend Report 2012

Argie Salango and I had been planning a big shoot involving 5 male models per trend last season.  We've been talking about the styling, props, and how each trend stand on its own, and each model has different styling than the others.  It was cancelled several times due to models unavailability, Argie's sched conflicts with mine, and some neverending excuses.

Until this season, Fall 2012, we really fight for our scheds to execute our dreamshoot.   During our elimination process, we collate all the trends from Paris, NY, and Milan, and seek correlation in our Philippine Fashion Week Menswear Holiday 2012.  Given that majority of the menswear were already either sold or pulled, thus we are forced to go with the brands as well.  Pulling out wont be as a breeze with the help of our styling interns Angela, Karen, and Kai.  I also personally wanted to involve Kaye since she's been telling me wanted to grow more on men's.  Check out the styling team!
Bare with me on my wasted-look :) Me, Argie, Karen, Angela, Kai, Kaye and Kristin.  Thanks CraveMore for the cool necklace!

Check out some of best picks of the trend!
Royalties - double breasted, trench, and fur coats.

Academics - Tartans, Plaids and Checks, choose your patterns.
Crimson Reds - Any hues of Red.
To make the spread relevance, cohesive and applicable to us Filipinos, Argie and I agreed to have a color scheme, and attitude for the shoot.  Here are just some of the pantone-colors for us to play around.
Finally, check out our full spread fashion editorial, released last August 31, Friday, in Manila Bulletin Fashion Section.  Our very own September Issue!  Special Thanks to More than a chair - Nostalgia Showroom for a very great and iconic location to shoot!
1st: KNIT REMIX - The knits is almost a staple clothing for colder BER season here in the Phils.  Thank you Swatch - Giftgate for the color-candy watches.
2. VARSITY BLUES - Varsity Jackets can be seen in every major brands, from Zara Man, Massimo Dutti, Topman, Blue Inc., Folded & Hung, Forever21 Men, and even to online stores as Flying Dutchman.
3. LEATHERS - Who can wear all leathers here? Thus we just wanted to incorporate leather only as jackets, not the entire wardrobe.
4. JUST DANDY - tartans, plaids, and checks is a recurring trend from last Spring/Summer 2012 season.  Check out laceups, and boatshoes all from Flying Dutchman.
5. REDS - we want to play around the shades of Reds here, and on the styling as well.
6. CLASSICS - the basic coat and tie, the black and white.  Don't you just love this layout! Thanks alot Seven Barretto, man, you nailed this shoot!
7. DOUBLE BREASTED - I really thought is DOUBLE CHESTED, since I thought its weird to call it Breast for a guy! LOLS.  Big trend for Fall is the envelope bag as well, thanks alot Myth.
8. MODERN VINTAGE - we don't to copy the modern 60's, thus we want to take a reference from Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn character.
Of course, I want to credit Kristin Cornejo as well, for providing us the BTS Videography for this shoot, click link below!

Until next time! Cheers!

Meg Magazine + Outfit Preview

Last June, Aisa Ipac and I with Kaye, and Kat did a styling for 7 promising bands featured in the Meg Magazine August issue.  Aisa called me to co-style with her since she knows my strength is rush pulls and menswear. Aisa has her own style, and so much different with each other.  I love it that we don't compete but we share what opportunities one has, and so as its kinda cool to work together-styling in the same projects.
We tagged along Kaye Awatin and Kat Valdez for the pullout and shoot.

Of course, they left me with the mens to style.  Though I have a 2 shoots upcoming for the week, I need to leave them for some pullouts, but I was able to style 2-3 bands with them.

Never the strangers - Composed of 4 members, Anthony - keyboards/vocals, Francis - bass/back up vocals, Pj - Drums and Jp - Guitars.  They are so cool that I wanna be High School again! Lols
