ANTM: Claire Unabia-James

Last PFW 2010, I've heard that FilAm Claire Unabia from ANTM Cycle 10 is here in Manila to do some runway shows. I haven't noticed her and seems few people knows her with the limited exposure/stay here in the Phils. Until last PFW SS2012 show that CalCarrie's, Modelling Agency, send the model's setcard for me to choose for my upcoming shoot. I talked to Allan Costa of CalCarrie's, and it's so fast and they are so cool people to make things possible.

The shoot is set, the team is formed, and I called my bessy Aisa Ipac to do collaboration shoot, and she's so thrilled in the project. We wanted to make a couture shoot but mixing very RTW pieces with designers, a very casual couture as we agreed. With a very limited time and stay of Claire for the upcoming PFW shows, we have 3 days to pull off everything, and I mean everything.

Remember this? It's ANTM Cycle 10, and it's Claire! This is really one of the biggest & challenging eds that we needed an urgent help, where Keigh Jalbuena, Kristin Cornejo, Bianca Sing, and Ava Te were involved. We are so greatful, and euphoric for this since it's Claire afterall.

Sharing you the behind the scene from the shoot. Melai Entuna introduced us to The Mutual - Kim Camelo & Ilsa Malsi to do the BTS Video for us, isn't it huge already! Thanks alot guys!

Dolled up!

Checking lights, angles, etc.

The very happy Curtain Call! I'm gigantic 159lbs overweight here. Lols!

I hugely would like to thank Manila Bulletin Fashion Section under our Fashion Editor Ms. Joyce Fernandez for really trusting, giving me a creative freedom and HUGE opportunity such as this. This only does not give me a powerful book but also the experience of how is it to be working with talented people. Again, thank you Manila Bulletin Fashion Section, and Ms. Joyce.

God bless and promise guys, I'll post pending in multiple themes so I can catch up with the latest ones.

Ciao Bellas!

Apocalypto

Remember this... I still have this huge posted on my wall courtesy of FNH SM Southmall.
And this billboard?

HIDEO MURAOKA - if this name isn't familiar with you! Damn, just remember he's really H-O-T! Rxandy's dream finally turned into reality! I want to book Hideo long before, but his sched is really tight, I mean really tight, but again thanks to Mau, his agent, for the miracle bliss!

The shoot concept is about the end of the world, what would a typical guy would wear or have during the apocalypse but with some fashion the guy kept some edgy-ness and some attitude!

Prep those leathers and all: Thanks to Zxander Tan, Drie Soriano for the clothes. Brands were AX Armani, Zara Men, Topman, Springfield, Hush Puppies, and Sebago.

Trivia: Hideo actually knows Capoiera, a brazillian martial arts that combines music and dance. Hip right!

REVELATION: I have a huge crush on Hideo back then when he's the FNH billboard guy!

Can you handle this?

He almost injured his right leg, entwined between those parallel table blocks.

In Lady Gaga shirt ;)

Prince & Mod

One of the phototakers I'm so close with is Darrel Pobre, we used to call him Darz or D. This one day shoot, we pushed 4 eds - 3 from me, and 1 from bessy Aisa Ipac, super crazy right?

Advantage of doing several editorials (eds) in a day, 1. you save time & effort 2. maximize accessories/pulls 3. more releases but note that the quality of the shoot should not be affected since there is, and will always be a tendency to use the same accessories/styling tools in some parts. I want to feature 2 of our works here, so enjoy the photos, and bare with me on the late posts, but I do promise, no more pendings.

Feast on, I mean read on with Robson and Cianne:

1st Eds: Prince Prints - different patterns of prints.

I love Robson since he is very commercial appealing to the photos, but part of the Styling 101: attention to details. Flaws and all: Robson's leg is kinda wider thus carefull not hightlight it, PROFILE or CROP it!

D suggested to play around color background, and he chose yellow, why not? Boom! Perfect! Checkered tie in floral top.

Stripes and Horizontols.

2nd Eds: Hold Steady - inspired by the Mod trend for FW2011.

This is my second project with Cianne, 1st with Fashion Depot Magazine up and coming this March 2011.

Our first outdoor shoot together! Keep it up D!

Make up seems familiar? Guess where I took the inspiration?

Illustrado Magazine - Dubai

To date, this is my first cover and the same time, main editorial spread for an international magazine, and I'm so privilege to be part in this team.

It started when I requested photographer Enzo Mondejar to do an fashion editorial for Manila Bulletin, thus our first collaboration. After a month, Enzo asked if I can style for Illustrado Magazine, a Dubai based magazine showcasing Filipino talents, and definitely, I said yes. The real challenge for this is that, I have 5 days to do pulls, and note I have a 3-day shoot in Palawan for Weddings & Beyond Magazine, thus I need uber extra hand to do the actual pull for me, and this is my loving JP Arriola comes in. Lo, another sweet memories I can always cherish here, wish you still here.

While I'm in Palawan, I email, call and text every menswear designers and brands for the shoot, and luckily, the favor is on me. Without further ado, check out our collaboration works below, released last October 2011.
Our cover featuring, Don Mendoza of Mercator.

Styling 101: Don't rely on setcards, model sizes usually are not updated. Thus, if it indicates waist line of 30, make it 32, same goes with the shoes, etc, have it 1 size bigger. It's better its loose so you can just clamp it!

Our first layout in Portofino Heights. Thanks to Mr. Joseph Celestino, Property Manager, who accommodate us in just 2 hours notice. Thanks to Diageo Phils' Ms. Jo Secarro, my link to Mr. Joseph.

Due to heavy rains, and really bad weather that time, we are forced to shoot some of the layouts, in the main building.

Outdoor becomes indoor.

We even tried shooting this next layout in the grass area along Daang Hari, Alabang, but security really are strict thus we agreed to shoot some in Enzo's Studio.

Outdoor, to indoor to studio...

Huge thanks to the team, especially Enzo, and the rest of the brands and designers who graciously allow me pull in such short notice.
